Best post of the year!

You mentioned that a van should be making around $250,000 a year before adding another truck.. You able to break down that for us too? Been meaning to ask you about that.

90 % of these posts are speculation...

I gave a spreadsheet for people to figure it out themselves.

If you can still read, look right in the beginning WHERE i said these are made up.
USE YOUR OWN NUMBERS.

Very nice Shane. I suck at numbers. I just hired and office lady/personal assistant to help in that dept. :)
I have built a profitable business in this town but I never really had a good handle on the numbers as much as I should. So we are working on that now :). Thanks for that formula.

I get sick with worry every January from lack of work

And then I get sick from exhaustion every July from over work.

My life is a turd circling the toilet.

I stop by here every day to change my shorts.
I agree Chicago is worse then Alabama trust me longer winters here.. I use to live in Huntsville and I worked for Sears about 20 years ago.. and talk about people hiding in there homes..lol

These are job cost numbers, fixed costs like rent, telephone, insurance are there regardless of how many jobs you have and come off the gross profit at the end of the month. That will be another thread...

It is critical to understand how these numbers interconnect when making business decisions

For example:

1. A portable will have lower equipment cost BUT higher labor cost, you are making a trade off.

2. XYZ TM for $10k may have a lower intial cost but lower number of gross hours and higher maintenance costs. Also with some models higher labor costs because you have to wait for pressure/heat, with 0 resale value.
You're right the cost per feet should have all factors in. A total ROI analysis is better when you account for factors as fixed cost and sales.

Apparently you didnt read the thread ;).

Juan go and measure first, then come back and let us know the sqr ft, layout and industry.
Also what kind of equipment you are using.

We cant give you a specific answer but can point in the right direction

Thanks, I want to know how much a carpet cleaning company charge (per square feet) for commercial jobs in the USA. I like to charge the same price here in Canada which give better results. Your prices are chipper but more effective as guide line for my business.

Here is a piece of data to consider around pricing. If you haven't upped your prices in the last 12 months you may be missing out on an easy way to grow your revenue in 2016.

In the third quarter of 2015, the Pricing Index for the Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning industry increased 3.8% over the prior year period. The Index values are net of any coupons, discounts or special offers.

**Source Customer Lobby 2015 Q3 Carpet Insights Report which is based on +$4 billion in carpet transactions across +10 million transactions.

That's $400 average ticket across the board. what does this include? carpet dyeing or something? am I wrong on my math. $4,000,000,000 / 10,000,000 transactions.

Incorrect.

The sample size includes ticket prices and residential customers of all shapes and sizes. As I'm sure you know there are different house sizes, services, regions and types of customers that can influence. The only way to get relevant information is to get a sample size as large as what is in the report to statistically smooth out these variables.

So would this be "cleaning services" or just carpet? Is this figured by NAICS code is kinda what I mean,, but my math is correct that is the average ticket price from those numbers you posted. that's all I was asking but I checked it again.Just to be sure LOL I know its not one area. not with that much revenue reporting. I hope its right and only includes services I perform, but previous thinking from talking to cleaners that are successful in pretty much every region in the US . I got the notion the high end of average tickets are around $300 so that surprised me. In a good way though. Rise is a rise. Its up here I can tell you that much. And this is no upscale region.
