I know we have some smarties on here. I just stumbled onto a stock pick ad. Im terrible at stock picking but what the heck might as well do some pretend buying on here. Here is the article. (I always enjoy figuring out the company WITHOUT signing up fot whatever the pitch is about)
So first off ... lets see if we can figure out what the company name is. Secondly we take imaginary 5K and bet it all on the stock. Half of it or blow the whole 5k on hookers and blow and forget about the stock completely.

Picking stocks.. Holding for how long? 1mth, 1 year, 20 yrs?

Picking a handful of stocks is similar to the gambling. Creating a well diverse portfolio takes a lot of money built up over time and a well thought out plan to create a certain balance.

What are you looking for with your picks?

Energy stocks would be my bet, some have been beaten up pretty good now.

Problem is be careful of which one because at least a couple will run into debt trouble in the not so distant future.
The winners will double in a year or 2. If not more.

Buy low/Sell high is not easy to do in real life....

oil is a better option right now, get out in the next 2-3 years, double your money.

Yeah right, thats legalized gambling.
Good luck on betting commodity options.

Just a whole lot less risk

True but that's a bet I'm willing to take over the short term.

I don't even like commodities but I do like oil for the next 2-4 years.

And yes, oil is listed as energy but I meant oil specific companies, not energy companies as a whole.

Its not that easy, you have to get over a specific price at a specific time in history.

sooo will the price be over/under $55 sept 2015?
Its either win or lose no in between.

Yes i was referring to Big Oil in energy stocks, including drillers, banks that fund them, servicers like halliburton, equipment makers etc.

Gotta use those sell stops.

and I'm guessing under, that's way too soon.

I'll take $60 from BP in the next five years though.

The other energy stock Eni SPA is the biggest industrial company in Italy, it's leading the pack to drill oil in Mexico, once the new reforms are in place. I'm gonna take that one over the long term.

To flip or to rent?
Rental properties and property flips, I hear this from alot of people. 24 year old on the radio yesterday, had to be one of the most disciplined indivisuals when it came too many. Made millions off of nickels and that is one of his major sources of revenue.

I own several rental properties along with a Laundromat.
Also own approx 50 different individual stocks and mutual funds.
One thing about being well diversified is that when one sector might be off the others are making money. (hopefully)
Right now my oil related stocks are getting creamed.
