It's not that I dont love my little oreck orbital scrubber because I do.
Its scrubs well. However if I can cut the scrubbing time in half that would be a real time saver for me.
Does the CRB scrub better then a orbital scrubber? Maybe.
A 15-20" wide CRB machine may cut the scrubbing time in half and do a better job.
Usually, I go over the rug twice with my oreck. Once forward and backward, then back over it side to side.
It certainly takes time but I know I'm getting the scrubbing done well.
So far I have seen these scrubbers:
1. Robs CRB here at TMF
2. Steam brites clean storm CRB
3. Bridgepoints hydro force brush pro
4. Mytees CRB not sure it's out yet
I like the trays with the windows. Nice feature.
Also one 17 inch brush has possibley double the amount of surface area one scrub ring has on my oreck.
Furthermore, it has two brushes. 150% more contact to the carpet per pass then my oreck?
So if I only have to make 1 pass with the 17" CRB AND get 100% more contact in that one pass its cutting my time in at least half, if not 75%.
So I could possibly CRB FASTER THEN VACUUMING???????
I dont know the width of these CRB brushes. But they have to be wide then my scrub rings.
This could speed up the cleaning pie quite a bit!!
What's your experiences with the CRB?
Heres steam brites comparison chart:

Great point anderson. Yes needs wheels for sure. I lug that oreck around all the time. I know many have wheel trays. So you wheel it where you need it then take it off the wheels and go. Not sure how good that is compared to fixed wheels on the machine. I'm assuming that's what you are referring to.

just checked your list......
none of those have attached wheels.....
unless they have some you can bolt on????

calculate how many times you lift up your 20 lb oreck.....
up to 30-50 times an hour.....

try lifting 60 lbs. 50 times an hour.....

look at the whitaker?????
i believe i saw a used whitaker somewhere???

if not get a light weight 175 with wheels and tank!!!!

All Whitaker's are Austrian made!

But starting out and being broke I would recommend you getting the sebo

Or Windsor variant

I have used them in the past in those little boogers dig a ton of snot out of the carpet

Not as much of it as a traditional crb

Don't get the tray with the see-through plastic, it will simply break away after a few months.

Go for the BrushPro, Austrian Made, serial number always starts with the year it was made for example 18-12345 means it was manufactured in 2018. The chinese always start with a 0-12345

The 15inch is the most versatile for residential use, not too big, not too small. You won't like it for commercial though.

There is a BrushPro 20 inch model with a sealed motor that is great for covering larger commercial spaces.

CRB's are way superior at scrubbing than an oreck, But!!!!
he oreck has its place and is good at doing quick encap or post bonnet extraction.

Oreck's are oscillators or orbital and just cannot do deep aggressive scrubbing and when too much pressure is applied it will not even spin,
CRB's dig deep and lift very similar to a pile driver/lifter.

Id start with a SEBO

Get a used Host. They aren’t as heavy but scrub well and are often under $450 in good shape.

The oreck has a 10" diameter ring. But in reality, you get a 1.5" contact patch as you move across the floor with a scrub ring.
I'm not sure what the contact patch is of the CRB and I'm not sure of the width of the brushes top to bottom. But it's a huge difference anyway you slice it.
Another factor is brush memory. You can reverse the crb brushes when the bristles start to fall down one way, decreasing performance. With the oreck forget it.......not going to happen. You will have to replace them.....

Plus people argue and hate getting called out but they both agitate but aren’t even remotely the same. One extracts a ton of debris, one doesn’t, never has, and simply can’t. Our goal is to remove debris, why bother spending the time agitating if you dont remove the debris. That’s like saying pre vacuuming is a waste of time since we HWE. Their issue is with price not performance. Once you own one you will immediately see. While it’s not always the most effective tool for every single carpet type you’ll be amazed.
I have a host and a brush pro and will say a host works amazingly well for 1/4 of the price used.

I like the idea of the trays but someone said they will break in a few months. Not sure why, as they are not really a moving part.
But they look really nice to show the customer and remove the debris off the floor. I like that idea. Easier on my booster too.
And they are removable as well. So the Austrian one come with trays and wheels too?

Mine came with wheels and trays. Not sure how the trays can break. There’s really nothing to break. I’m not easy on equipment, but I guess anyone can break stuff when they abuse it. I always like to show the client when I can all the debris. There’s times I take off the trays but for debris removal they are a must. I’ve yet used the wheels myself. As I understand it not all come with wheels.
